A Victoria Getaway
Time for a nice long exploration on foot! First up: Craigdarroch Castle! (which was closed this day...)
So we carried on west along Fort Street...
Then turned south to see Government House!
A large well-gardened yard. First time for me to see this place!
Plenty of evidence of Victoria's rocky foundations!
The sunken rose garden:
The roses were mostly past thier best, but a few were still quite enthusiastic!
...maybe I should have looked for their names...
Ok, I know this one: it's a red rose!
This is in the "Victorian rose garden", and here the roses were really getting past their peak. Still the covered archway was spectacular!
Lots of blooms!
