Geysir
This sign is in the Skogafoss parking lot. Here you can hike to the recent volcanic activity.
I do notice, with great amusement, that the activity actually occured between the two main glaciers: Myrdalsjokull and Eyjafjallajokull.
But they chose to use the more difficult name to pronounce!
The Skagafoss. You could get right up to the falling water.
So a lot of people were standing near the falls.
One of us even got much closer, until a sudden draft got him and his camera soaked with spray!
They best way to dry off: exercise! ...paper towels worked for the camera...
In standard Iceland tourist protection mode, there was none...
This is the beginning of the trail up to the volcano, so we went a bit further...
There were plenty of excellent observation points, too!
We went up a few km, then decided to head back down. ...still lots more to see!
These two were enjoying the soft moss and plants, which apparently make for comfortable seating!
This was the sign nearby, and yes, they were in the closed area...
There was more to see than just waterfalls, rapids, and glaciers!
Almost back at the rv, and the sky was beginning to clear!
