Leaving Kyoto

One last breakfast at a coffee shop: Late! Well, actually, if this was a Japanese word, it would be pronounced latte...

There were other coffee shops nearby...

I wandered, while Yuko finished her packing. Western menus were common.

I really should have tried this place!

I think they served Mexican food. ...Or was it Indian curries?

The use of English in the signage was frequently worth a second look...

So. You want to live here, do you? This is at a Real Estate office.

The price is 12,800 x 10000 yen, or 128,000,000 yen, or about $1.5 million (CDN). 2769 sq ft, 10 rooms, plus dining and kitchen.

$297,000 (CDN), 580 sq ft, 1 bedroom, plus living/dining/kitchen.

Maybe rent a place, instead... $1,025 /month, 530 sq ft, plus assorted other ongoing and one-time fees. Vancouver prices!

After a quick taxi ride, we arrived at the Kyoto station, and had an hour or two to spare. So first things first: Lunch.

We first checked the east side of the station (since we hadn't been here yet): no lunch here...

That's the roof. And no, there's no lunch served up there, either...
