The Sake Tour

Inside the museum, the displays featured the entire sake production process from the old days.

The old style paintings are used to demonstrate the likely settings.

I like the bamboo ski boots!

Hmm, I hope you like a lot of perspiration in your sake!

The museum is actually attached to the old production facility of a modern sake brewing company. The old company books and sample products...

These are the many and varied sake serving containers.

The barrels were stamped by the makers, and some of the stamps were quite detailed...

The modern celebration sake party tools! The big hammer is used to ceremoniously break open the barrel's lid.

The various ceramic sake serving containers, complete with the Japanese equivalent of Bacchus!

These three posters are contemporaries from the 1930's. Can you tell which one was banned before it could be released?

The brewery's current offerings!

A veritable rainbow of products!

On the way out: a sake tasting opportunity. I preferred this particular one, so we bought a bottle. I mostly like it for the cap. It becomes a drinking cup, with a metal stand.
