The Old Imperial Palace
Yuko, crossing a BIG intersection...
We came across this "creek" in a stone-walled trench, and it had a walkway along the bottom.
It was going in our direction, and made a nice break from the vehicle traffic.
At this point, the rock wall along the east side (right) changed to these old, huge rocks. These are the remains of the Nijo Castle defenses.
Well, since we were beside the castle, we went back to street level to see the... flowers?
There's the castle, it was across the street. Tonight was the final night for the light show inside, and the lineup to get in was... Large.
We were staying only a few blocks from the castle, and passed by this on the way. This is a gravestone seller. I presume these are intended for children...
