Snorkle tour boat.

Erosion on certain types of volcanic material is very, very rapid...

The island of Lanai, over to the west.

Unfortunately, the waves were becoming too troublesome for snorkling at the original destination, so it was back towards where we just came from! That's Molokai in the distance.

We eventually ended up here, in a sheltered area, which featured an artificial reef created when a recent hurricane knocked down the old wharf.
Funny how everything seems to come together: That's the old wharf where I took Yuko's picture yesterday! And on the left you can see the Luau location!
...we took an expensive boat tour to essentially do what could have been a shore dive! However, this was easier, and meant we had a safe place to store our stuff.

The ladders were lowered, and the snorklers were off!

I stayed on the boat for a few more minutes in order to get some pictures...

"Where is he?"

"Aren't you coming into the water?"

And here's the first Snuba group. Since we were both scuba divers, we wanted to try it, and would be going in the second group.
By now, we were surrounded by other dive boats that were also unwilling to venture into the waves. There would eventually be four boats. It was getting a bit crowded...

The boat photographer had an underwater housing for his camera, and used it while snorkling. He could free-dive quite well.
This is excellent, as it makes for bubble-free images! And here is a turtle about 20 ft down, with Yuko visible on the surface! Great shot!

Amid the old wharf wreckage, there were a few White-Tip Reef Sharks... Really DANGEROUS!!! Ok. They're not... These were about 6 ft long, and easily scared away...
