Snorkle tour boat.
One of my favourite pictures! Of the snorklers, only a few of us could free-dive.
I had dropped down to about 15 ft to get a better look at the turtles. There were 3 or 4 swimming about. While looking at the turtle, I saw the photog on the other side!
The photog could breath-hold longer than I could, and I was heading back to the surface!
Just the turtle... They don't seem afraid of people, and don't seem particulary bright, either...
It was time for the second Snuba shift! Here's Yuko, looking for turtles, and keeping her too-wide mask from leaking at the sides.
I was at the limit of the hose, and pulling it along the surface. I could feel the waves that were bobbing the float!
...adjusting the pressure in my sinuses and in my ears...
I never did see the photographer, I was too busy looking for the turtles and sharks!
Found one! A shark was resting on the bottom...
This is what we looked like from the surface. As you can see, surface snorkling in the tropics shows almost as much as scuba can, you just can't get as close.
Time's up! We were the last back on the boat. Yuko was drying the shorts that she forgot to remove before going into the water...
We were quite near the sister boat, which was whale watching. They were following two of them. They're one of those white foam smears somewhere out there...
