Off to Whistler for the day.

We got into the line-up for the Whistler gondola, which took only 25 minutes less time than did the drive up from Vancouver!

The Peak Chair: We usually take this one when skiing, but chose not to use it for a hiking point as there were too many cyclists taking their bikes there today.

A closer look at the top. The visible snow is usually a nice steep black diamond run.

These tourists had walked up the hill a bit to the closest patch of snow. The also walked past several "No Entry" signs to get there...

We walked along the roads, which are usually the easy "green" ski runs, but are service roads in the summer.

We were heading south, towards the ridge, not too far away.

The road passed under this chairlift, another that we frequent.

This is one of the drop-in access points for this bowl, but not one we usually use. During the winter, the snow builds at the top, and makes it a 20 foot drop!

And the best way to see a ski run, is from the next mountain over! This is Blackcomb's 7th Heaven chair and runs.

This was the end of the road for our walk. We are on the main "blue" run for the chair that we had just passed under. The trail continues on well past the reddish cliffs.

There are more trails being established every year, and today were a bit late to carry on any further, so it was a good day for a long look around.

That chairlift in the distance is not one that we have used yet. The runs are short, and the ski-out is quite long and flat...
