Project Vortec: swapping in a Chev 4.3L Vortec engine and drivetrain. Apr 25, 2005.
The transfer case with the new Slip Yoke Eliminator partially installed.
This allows the driveshaft to be made longer, which will allow it to operate at reduced angles
which will increase its lifespan.
This is part of the engine speed sensor, and it is being trimmed to be narrower
which will allow the Mitsubishi speedo sensor to also be installed as well. Very custom.
The complete wiring harness is removed, and all connectors labelled.
This is a replacement front differential, it's larger and will be intalled at the time of the engine swap.
Then the internal parts will be replaced with an air-powered set of locking gears.
This will make the front differential lockable like the rear, which was done 5 years ago. Super traction!
The stack on the left are for the soon-to-arrive new larger 33x12.5" tires that will be going on the truck soon.
The stack on the right are a matching design, and are going on the Bigfoot Trailer, and the boat trailer.
I know, I know, matching rims. It's a guy vanity thing.
(The stack behind them is not mine!)
To be updated as the project progresses.
