Project Vortec: swapping in a Chev 4.3L Vortec engine and drivetrain.
This 1994 Chev Blazer insurance write-off was chosen (Jan 2005) as donor vehicle.
The expensive front damage did not effect the engine, transmission and transfercase.
I removed the damaged front sheet metal, to imrove access to the engine compartment.
The engine with the transmission and transfercase will be removed as a singe unit out the front.
This is the engine I wanted: A working 4.3L 200HP, 265 lbft torque, L35 CPI Vortec.
A definate improvement on the stock 2.6L 109HP, 135 lbft torque output currently in my truck.
