Mars Meteorites

A part slice of a Meteorite from Mars.
Martian meteorites resulted from a large meteor strike on Mars that ejected material which was able to escape Mars's gravitational pull, and which were eventually captured by the earth's gravitational field, where they fell as meteorites.
These meteorites match the Martian rock chemistry that has been provided by the various Martian probes, landers, and rovers.

Mars meteorites probably came from the 10km wide Zunil crater, formed about 2 million years ago.

Zunil crater location compared to the current locations of the 2 Mars rovers.
