Kyoto, Manshu-in
My 50th birthday day...
After the glitz and *BLING* of Kinkakuji, we crossed the valley to
the Manshu-in grounds, a small collection of buildings set in a very contemplative and serene
garden as demonstrated by Yuko.
The grounds of these temples are famous for being the location of
a famous sword fight ~400 years ago between the master of one school and the entire school of
his opponents. The one guy wiped out the whole school... Very violent for these thoughtful grounds.
And the inspiration for many a martial arts movie.
Even the walkway is a delight to the eye.
