Kyoto, Nijo Castle


My 50th birthday day...




We found several gardeners pruning this tree, and another one nearby. Look at the size of the clippings... These trees are getting a very fine manicure!




As we continued the tour, we exited the rear of the castle compound, and re-entered at this gate. Looks like a good defence against horses, swords, and arrows.




After the tour, we stopped for a delicious lunch, and a coffee...
Venti? Extra Large? Jumbo? Big Gulp?




Then after lunch we went to Kinkakuji. Here's Yuko and Saeko, doing the "Me At" pose.
