Yamagata, north Japan
Jan 4th, we walked through the local streets and enjoyed the winter scenery. These
are persimmons that were not picked in the fall, and still hanging though the winter.
Along a side street, the snow covered shrine.
We went to the top of the local ski hill, Zao mountain, where the temperature was -15 C at the
top. A wee bit chilly standing in the snow covered trees!
This is the Zao base, a major ski destination in Japan.
Looked worthy of a few turns... Maybe next time!
