Springtime, and it was Cherry Blossom Festival time, and this Weeping Cherry was the grandest tree in the city.



Even the trees in the former palace grounds in the middle of town were popular.



And the blossoms brought out the finery!



Blossoms aside, Kinkaku-ji makes a different impact.
The former "Moon viewing pavilion" of the rulers, it is now a temple, and was originally built with a gold leaf covering.
