Retirement Dreams!
Here is mom, visiting friends, Gerrit and Mattie Dake. Dad used to work with him in Franklin River.
(According to Mom: They were our original neighbours at 10th and Roewood, and they sold to the Dobsons)
I guessed correctly, they live in Squamish, and he is the brother of the Mr. Dake in Port Alberni. So Alan and Roy Dake's uncle and aunt.
I recognize this location, it's between Squamish and Whistler, along a short canyon section.
This is a better look into the canyon. It's the Cheakamus River, and it joins the Squamish River near the Squamish townsite.
Brandywine Falls. They are a short walk along a forest trail down from the hiway, and there is a nice viewing platform on the east side of the gorge.
Looking downstream from the falls, Daisy Lake is in the distance.
Back in Port Alberni, and the planters are doing well. Marion did a good job!
Looking west along the north side of the house.
And looking east along the south side of the house! It looks like the sprinkler systems are in place!
