Travel, Cars, & a Birthday!
Ok, it's cars again! This is Ken with his 1978 Camaro. And I sure hope all that oil underneath isn't from that car!
This Camaro is not the Z28 varient that John owned, but the motors were the same size.
Those valve covers are not stock, and there appears to be a few other non-standard bits... I know what Ken has done to the engine: he's voided the warranty!
So. Those younger brothers with their "muscle cars". What were the older two up to? Well, here's Jim's and my cars on our Wells-Grey Park canoe camping trip!
This is my 1978 car. A Subaru 4wd wagon, 1.6 L engine, and 67 horse-power! OOooo!!! Scary stuff! (A reliable, biodegradable car, it rusted out in 8 years...)
1978 was the first year Subaru was sold in Canada. Forty years later, I bought the 2018 Subaru BRZ sports car...
Mom's bowling team: The Gutter Gals! According to mom it's not the original 5: Her, Corrie van der Est, Tosca van Lent, Tante Sjaan, and Lenie van Gaans.
Now, to be fair, we haven't seen any pictures of Doreen's kids for a whole page, so they are overdue!
The built-in babysitter: Auntie Marion!
Looks like she's got P.J. under control!
Dad with Donnie. It looks like mom should have combed his hair for this picture too!
And here's the complete set! P.J., Donnie, and R.J.
Marion's birthday cake! 1979 = 15th birthday?
Ok, I realize that dad has these odd looking shoes on his feet, but the hoodie and the behavior seems out of character!
(Mom says it's Rie Evers, and it's probably a birthday party)
And here is the beginnings of the greenhouse! All plastic sheeting initially, but it is destined to improve!
