...new titles!
This looks like the van Kessels in the backyard, in the tent. I think it was Mom's idea: Put them in the tent on air mattresses, and offer them breakfast in the morning!
She was going to call it "Tent & Air-Mattress Bed & Breakfast". or "Tent-BnB" for short... I told her that it would never catch on...
Ok, why this picture? That's Don on the ladder, and he's carrying up a bundle of shingles. Apparently this was the only way to get all the shingles up onto the roof.
The shingles were delivered to the back yard, not onto the roof. Everyone else had pretended the bundles were too heavy to carry up the ladder... (Any embarrassing laundry in the background?)
And here we are putting all those new shingles on the roof. Looks like (L-R): Jim, Dad, Marion, John, and Don. The house is getting an overhaul...
And here's Marion, under the watchful eyes of mom. I guess when you have four brothers, some are expendable! (Shouldn't there be a layer of tarpaper under the shingles?)
Marion, being tutored on the tidal critters. The ranger badge looks American.
The shallows isn't real, it's been stocked with critters. That multi-arm sunstar on the left is never this shallow in nature, it prefers deeper waters. (end of nit-picking lecture)
Here's dad overhauling the flower beds. The tarp is protecting the fresh concrete patio.
The orange tarp is "colouring" the concrete, I don't think it's the final red layer. That came later...
Ken with R.J. It looks like a birthday cake has been recently devoured. ...possibly Ken's birthday, in early October...
