Skiing!!

And from the top of the T-bar, we climbed the last bit of the hill...

To get to Blackcomb Glacier, which is available for skiers, but has no chairlift of its own as it is outside the resort's control.

Cliff? What cliff?

Oh. That cliff... This area is skiable and is patrolled by the resort under an agreement with the BC Gov't. We are in bounds.

This is an amazing valley all on its own, and there is no easy way in or out. Experts only. Hmm... Looks a bit busy down there.

Entry is off one of the bumpy sidetracks that prior skiers and snowboarders had cut into the steep upper part of the glacier.

She has been here many times before, but not in recent years. It was the great weather that was making it special!

The glacier starts eastward, then turns to the north.

This is the snout of the glacier, where we drop down to the valley floor. Fantastic snow here, as the sun can't reach the snout's slope.

On the glacier, the ski run is hundreds of meters wide.

...I'm waiting for Yuko to get out of the way, she's blocking the run down there, again...

Looking back to the glacier's snout. From here, we take a speedy (and twisty) traverse back to the main lift area.
We actually continued all the way down to the mountain base, and took the gondola back up, because it had a shorter lineup! A 9.3 km ski run, with 1.6 km of vertical.
