Last stop is the Fjadrargljufur Canyon. Try saying that in a hurry!
The drivers dropped us off at the top, and picked us up at the bottom.
The canyon was formed by a stream from a lake up top. Unfortunately, the glaciers dumped so much sand and rock into the lake, that it filled in and disappeared.
So now the canyon exists, but the large source of water that created it is gone.
These purple flowers were everywhere here.
And so were these! Note the wool is straight and not curly.
The canyon is short, and apparently a popular tourist stop.
The rock erosion formations are interesting, and fortunately there were excellent viewing platforms!

Ok, this was funny! And this wasn't the first one that we saw. It was in the best condition still, though.
I noticed one earlier beside a field full of sheep. So I asked the van driver about it, and he remarked that the government should train the sheep first...
