Vatnajokull
We carried on from there, and made for the next camping location. Along the way: another glacier!
More farming / tourist accomodation.
It was all getting ho-hum spectacular!
We're now on the edge of that giant flood plain. It extends 40 km to the left. Note how much of the lane the camper in front occupies!
This was our destination: the red square. We were in the north-east corner of the floodplain, and high enough to be safe. This campsite was not in a town.
And it had its own glacier, too!
We walked the 2km trail to check it out.
And even though we could get to it, it was just out of reach.
Mostly because we needed boots! ...or get wet feet...
I got John to take this picture of me. Can you identify the Canadian?
End of the day! We had food from a food truck in the campground, and now the sun comes out! And the plans for tomorrow have just been arranged.
