The Blue Lagoon & Reykjavik
While looking for a place to eat, we found a sequined pig outside this patio restaurant!
The servers at the establishment. ...I wonder how they feel about that sequined pig? Yes, they are all blonde, and tall.
Here is the menu at this fine establishment. Note the "Small Courses Icelandic Platter". What environmentally insensitive person would eat that!?!
Well, us! And it tasted pretty good, too!
The old "main road" was now a shopping street. No cars!
Along the street there was the occasional bench with a notebook attached. Anyone could write, and anyone could read.
The street was popular with trendy polar bears...
A recurring theme here: bars (everywhere) with appropriated American names. I presume in the winter there's not much else to do since it's mostly dark.
A Starbucks imitation logo. Interestingly, Icelanders voted to block certain major American companies from opening her. No McDonalds, no Starbucks, etc.
Things are a little more casual here...
It's now late in the evening, and dinner time. Note the people seated inside. We walked past this place many times, and never saw anyone outside.
The food was very good here, as was most of the restaurant food that we had throughout the country. The evening crowds were usually quite dressed up, and stayed long and late.
