An island in the Atlantic: Iceland


This is the view to the south, and now the indigo blue night sky is quite obvious.



We very quickly approached sunrise, and you can see the slice of brighness coming in on the left, and the still dark slice of night sky on the right.

We are about at the half way point, and approaching Baffin Island.



And here is sunrise on the mountains of Baffin Island.



There are a lot of small ice-fields and glaciers



There is no trace of human occupation among these mountains.



Along the coast of Baffin Island. It would be very difficult to get a boat through all those icebergs!



The ice mostly looks flat, and is probably frozen sea-ice pieces. There is a big tall triangular glacier iceberg mixed in.



All this ice must make water travel an exercise in patience...



I did see a few large icebergs. It's 35,000 ft below me, and even with the camera zoom, it is not small! The iceberg that met the Titanic came from these waters.
