Next stop: Arashiyama

Arashiyama, a small town on the western edge of Kyoto. It does stuggle with crowding, ever since it became a popular tourist destination, back 1,000 years ago...

Our first destination here was the kimono design shop we found 17 years ago. It's just around the... Hold it, where's Marion?

So, while the cat lovers explored, I wandered the immediate vacinity. This old door is on a what is now a coffee shop.

This manicured tree is on the coffee shop's property.

This is one of the features that was on my list to re-photograph: the dragon wall.

The painting continues around the corner... The reflections are a bother, but the artwork shines through.

A close-up of the head. Looks almost like a goat.

And then there was the "tiger room"...

There were even rooms where people took pictures looking outwards!
