A Vancouver Visit.
We walked down the ridge trail, and had a great view of the next valley. There is a chairlift here, but when skiing, it is a bit far away...
Blackcomb is in the distance, and this pond is one of Whistler's snow-melt basins, used to provide snow-making water.
A new chairlift! Apparently, Whitler is replacing the Emerald chair with yet another improvement! A six-seater?
"Siri, how do I jump-start a snowcat, without the key?"
We took the Peak to Peak gondola over to Blackcomb, where usually the summer download takes place on the Solar and Wizard chairs.
Not this summer, both have been removed, and a new gondola is going in (the big orange tarp)! The foreground construction is an upgrade to an older chairlift.
So we made the round-trip, going back to Whistler.
The tourists were everywhere! Us? Tourists? Of course not! We're... Uh... Sight-seers?
The snow-melt was still in force. That is cold water!
Did you see the guy in the water in the last picture? That cold water is good for easing bruised cycling bones, and sunburns, and bug bites! Or all three!
John decided to change hats, and instead of advertising UnderArmour, he is now promoting Whistler! ...this picture is supposed to be photoshopped onto the ice climbing picture...
We walked through the bike tents in the parking area. The only thing I recognised was the numbers on the price tags.
John has recent mountain trail riding experience, and was frequently discussing advanced performance details, and the latest in rock jumping improvements with the staff.
And that ends the tour. We walked another 83.5 km that day, and a further 172 km on the next day. After that, John went back home. ...to recover. ...so did I.
