Fencing.
Wide, flat, wet!
The walk back begins...
...and the distractions were endless!
Trying to keep up...
...and not doing very well!
He's not keeping up, is he. (from John)
Did I mention the distractions?
Oh look! An eagle!
Oops! For birds, it's zoom in, not zoom out...
Ken, in his outdoor office. Yes, he is working, and yes, he has the day off...
Back to the trail again.
And all those stairs!
Apparently the round trip wandering with the camera took me 7 km and 2.5 hrs, with the stair climbs of 150 feet.
I checked the direct one-way distances using the gps maps for both the north and the south approaches to the big flat rock, and it's 2.8 km either way.
However, this route is easier for moving heavy coolers since half the distance is on the forest trails, and there is no tricky stream crossing along the way.
